The Shipstad Family History and Bios:
The Shipstad Family, often called the “First Family of Figure Skating,” has been bringing theatrical entertainment to the ice since 1930 and many members have been at the forefront of competitive ice sports on both national and world levels. Eddie Shipstad Senior was the one of the founders and stars of the Shipstad and Johnson’s Ice Follies, the first-ever professional ice show of its kind (later turning into Disney on Ice and Ice Capades). This pioneered figure skating as both a sport and as an art.
Three generations of Shipstads have produced and entertained audiences around the world with ice productions and competitive performances and their combined experiences total well over 100 years of experience on the ice. With IceReach, they plan to leave another legacy to the world of Ice Sports through exciting outreach
